As early as 1999, we introduced the first contact shrink unit, a real milestone in modern shrink technology. In the following years inductive shrink units were developed on this basis. Today, Diebold is the technological world market leader and offers more than 10 different heat shrink units. Another success was achieved by the patented FKS water cooler for the rapid cooling of the tools after the shrinking process.

Diebold MS 502-P

Horizontal inductive micro shrink unit

The MS 502-P was specially developed for slim, thin-walled and extremely short shrink-fit chucks

The horizontal micro induction shrink unit is suitable for shrinking of carbide shafts:
-Ø3–16 mm (standard geometry)
-Ø3-20 mm (slim geometry)

The cooling:
The air cooler attaches to the side of the MS 502-P. The shrink-fit chucks are cooled quickly and effectively thanks to its patented air flow guidance.

Shrink Unit US 1100 Vertical

Pyrometer shrinking or manual shrinking

Shrink range Ø 3 – 32 mm for carbide shanks and Ø 6 – 32 mm for HSS shanks. The optional coil with pyrometer technology allows automatic and direct temperature control of the Shrink Chuck during heating.The Shrink Chuck can no more be overheated.

Manual operation with paramters or one button for manual operation. The safe and fast shrinking process does not need a prior identification of the Shrink Chuck.

• Changeable adapters HSK 25 to HSK 100 or SK/BT 30 to SK/BT 50 to hold the ShrinkFit tool holders in the shrink position
• With the universal tool clamping adapter it is possible to clamp all taper sizes centric
• Installation of a length setting unit is possible
• For cool down of the ShrinkFit holders we recommend to use our chiller unit FKS 04S

Shrink Unit US 1100 TubeChiller

For innovative shrinking and automatic cooling of shrink fit tool holders we offer our newest technology called „TubeChiller™“. This technology was developed to combine our shrink unit series US 1100 with automatic cooling. The units work fully automatic and after the shrink fit process, tool holders are cooled down automatically so that it is impossible for operators to touch hot tools.

After the shrink process the tube of the chiller unit lifts automatically from the base. At the same time the tube is filled with coolant and it cools down the hot tool holder. While the tube is moving up, it moves the coil back in to the start position without the need of pneumatic or and mechanical accessories.

The new Pyrometer Technology

The Pyrometer technology was developed for an easy shrink fit process where minimal temperature will be applied to the tool holder that is necessary to make the shrink process work. This prevents overheating of the tool holders, a well know problem in shrink fit technology. Uncontrolled energy input and high power of the shrink fit machine is not the right solution, only controlled temperature guarantees a smooth shrink fit process.

 

Diebold FKS 04 S

Liquid cooler for shrink-fit chucks – automatic or manual units

The Diebold FKS 04 S is a patented liquid cooler for cool down of shrink-fit chucks. Fast, contour-independent cooling, cleaning and rust protection.

The housing of the FKS 04 S is filled with cooling water. The water is lifted into the tower by compressed air and flows circularly around the tool to be cooled. Therefore, the radial run-out of the tool remains unchanged. If the tool would be showered, the cutter would bend considerably due to distortion.
